When I am in my robotic exoskeleton, I do not feel disabled, nor do I feel able-bodied; I feel ReEnabled.
— Adam Gorlitsky, Founder/CEO I Got Legs

Who is The Betty Carlton?

The Betty Carlton is the name of I GOT LEGS’ founder, Adam Gorlitsky’s, ReWalk robotic exoskeleton. Betty after his late grandmother, Betty, and Carlton, after Carlton Banks from his favorite TV show— The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Nearly 13 years ago, Adam was paralyzed from the waist down with a spinal cord injury that he sustained during a car accident while traveling back home from college. Doctors told him he would never be able to walk again, but that changed three years ago when he was introduced to an incredible advancement in mobility technology known as the ReWalk robotic exoskeleton. This robotic exoskeleton that Adam has honorably named, The Betty Carlton, has given him the second chance to stand up and walk again. With that second chance, it is now his goal to make it easier for others, like himself, to have access to this kind of technology, and to other kinds of adaptive technologies for an improved and better quality of life.
